As a summary of my attorney resume, I have been in solo private practice in Gig Harbor, Washington, an area near where I grew up, since May 1995.
Before that, starting in 1982 until 1995, I practiced law in two local medical defense law firms in Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma:
During my medical defense work there, I defended neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, obstetrician/gynecologists, dermatologists and primary care providers in cases claiming negligence.
As co-defense counsel, we obtained a defense verdict in my first medical malpractice defense jury trial and I obtained a defense verdict in my first solo dental malpractice defense jury trial.
I have worked with physicians at the University of Washington and at the Health and Sciences University in Oregon.
I’ve taken more than 20 trips to meet experts in California at medical facilities including the University of San Francisco, Stanford Medical School, Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles and the University of California at Irvine.
I worked with a physician at the Harvard Medical School. I deposed the Chief of Anesthesiology at Johns Hopkins University Medical School.
I helped defend several cases where Paul Luvera was the plaintiff’s attorney.
I transitioned amicably and on good terms from both law firms.
I am proud to have had the opportunity in 1981 and 1982 to work as a law clerk for two respected judges at the Washington State Court of Appeals, Judge Vernon Pearson and Judge Stanley Worswick.
Clifford L. Peterson serves clients throughout Pierce, King, Kitsap, Thurston and the surrounding counties.
